Every year workers in British Columbia are killed or seriously injured because machinery or equipment was not properly locked out. These accidents can be prevented if machinery is locked out properly before obstructions are cleared or other maintenance work is done.

The Lockout course provides safety training to employees who have direct potential exposure to hazardous energy sources during Preventive Maintenance (PM) Inspections, Corrective Maintenance (CM) Inspections and troubleshooting of systems. It is designed to establish minimum performance requirements for the control of such potentially hazardous conditions.
