The purpose of this course is to educate people who perform forklift operations on the rules, legislation, and proper application of safe work practices and operating procedures involved in the use of lift trucks. Onsite forklift training will teach participants how to identify specific health and safety hazards in the workplace associated with operating a powered industrial lift truck as well as training and practice in the safe and efficient operation of equipment specific to the participant’s worksite.

This program specifies the basic knowledge and skill requirements for the safe operation of lift trucks and their attachments, following the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) B335-94 safety standard for lift trucks and OHSA regulations.
