About the Propane Training Institute

The Propane Training Institute (P•T•I) is the training division of the Propane Gas Association of Canada and is dedicated to offering state of the art training programs to assist the LP-gas industry and customers in meeting their LP-gas technical training needs.

Our courses have been designed to provide basic instruction on the safe handling of propane and propane-powered equipment and satisfy federal and provincial training requirements. Most of our courses have been designed to be delivered in one day or less and some of our courses are also available with self-study materials to reduce the amount of in-class time for the student.

The national Propane Storage and Handling Code (B149.2-05) stipulates that individuals who transfer propane from one container to another, must be the holder of a certificate recognized by the authority having jurisdiction. In addition, Occupational Health and Safety regulations require individuals to be adequately trained to perform their job functions.

P•T•I courses are recognized by regulatory authorities across Canada and we certify over twenty two thousand students annually on the safe handling of propane.
